Since I’ve updated everyone through Sunday I should start again with what we did on Monday but I honestly don’t remember so it must have not been that great.

Yesterday we had music class in the morning which Maayan was really happy about- she really loves it and everyone in the class thinks its really cute when she claps along. After music we took a long walk all the way down to 72nd Street- the weather was beautiful and we had a bunch of stops to make. Maayan got some new bathing suits to try on since the last one was too big, we just need to find a time when she will be happy about putting on a little fashion show, I’m thinking after a really good nap!
After our walk we came home for a little bit to play and then went back out b/c Ari told me that it was free cone day at Ben & Jerry’s and there is a store a few blocks away (which I’ve actually never been to, impressive huh?). Before we even got there I could see that the line was really long and when I got closer I saw that it was a whole block! I really didn’t want or need the ice cream so we walked a few more blocks and then came home.

This morning Maayan tried Cheerios for the first time, it was really funny! I wish we would have taken a video but we didn’t think of it. She didn’t really know what to do with them so with the first few she would suck on them and then spit them out. After a few more and seeing them on a spoon she understood a little better but when I took her out of her highchair I counted 7 cheerios which was probably more then she ate! We tried a few more times today and by dinnertime she was already chewing them- its good to know that her teeth can be used for good and not only evil! She really seems to like them and they make her a lot less mad about finishing her baby food so everyone is happy. Since Maayan didn’t have great naps today (thanks to the construction going on down the block) she was so tired tonight and went to sleep at 7:15. I think that’s about it for today. Good Night!

Even though we had to return this bathing suit since it was too big- we thought it was still a good picture to share

This is a fun toy....

Maayan had fun playing with Gershi at Bagel Country

It might be hard to tell but Maayan is 4 months older than Gershi

Danya feeding Maayan some yummy carrots- Thanks for your help Danya, you are a great big cousin!!

Maayan attempting to eat the Museum of Science and Industry ticket

Maayan had a great time playing with Bubby's face, and with the exception of the scratches, Bubby had fun too.

This time Maayan didn't cry when Eliana touched her

Maayan and Eliana having a good time playing!

If I just s-t-r-e-t-c-h a little bit more I can get my feet in my mouth

I know it has been a long time since the last post. Here is a recap of the past 2 weeks:

The night before Pesach we left for Chicago. Maayan was really good on the plane and slept most of the time. Erev Pesach was spent running some errands and visiting with Bubby. The first days of Pesach were nice and pretty quiet. Since the weather was really nice Maayan went in the swing at Saba and Savta’s “park” and we took a few long walks around the neighborhood.

Over Shabbos Ari, Maayan and I all got colds so we spent most of Sunday at home resting. The Isenberg’s came over in the afternoon and Maayan and Eliana played very nicely.

On Monday we went to the Museum of Science and Industry. It was Maayan’s first trip to a museum and she was happy in her stroller most of the time. Tuesday we got to the Eddie Bauer outlet and the Land’s End Inlet where we got some good deals. For the second days, Arica, Josh, Danya and Jordy joined us. Danya and Jordy seemed to like Maayan- at least most of the time. Danya was really good at feeding Maayan. Friday the weather was beautiful again and we went to Old Orchard. On Shabbos, Shaina and Brad came for lunch and stayed for a little while to play scrabble. Since it was a really nice day again we walked them home. I think this might have been the longest stretch of good weather that Chicago has had in years! After shabbos we were supposed to go out with Arica and Josh but Jordy didn’t want to sleep at Josh’s parents so instead we picked up dinner at Slice and went to their house. After we ate we played a fun game- Arica would find random stuff they have had for years and decide what it was/where it came from/ why they still have it/ and if they would throw it out- Ari and I thought it this was fun- especially since it wasn’t our stuff to get rid of!

Sunday was the end of our long visit- we finished packing and brought lunch to Bubby’s on the way to the airport. Of course when we got to the gate they said we were boarding on time and then going to sit on the runway for an hour! Once we were on the runway they said it was going to be an hour and a half, to put it nicely, we were not pleased! Five minutes later they said we were cleared for takeoff and everyone on the plane was so excited (I’m convinced they make up the long wait to have ppl. happy about being only a little late) In the end we only got in a half hour late and Maayan was really good. That’s about it for our pesach/Chicago trip. I will post pictures soon, there are a bunch!

"my future's so bright, I gotta wear shades"

trying out the park in Riverdale

Look at me standing all by myself

Enjoying the Spring weather!

Doesn't she look like a big kid with her feet up?

Here is an update on the past few days:
Friday was another beautiful day and Maayan and I took a nice walk to enjoy to weather, as you will see in the pictures, she was just kicking back and relaxing in her stroller! Shabbos was nice and quiet, everyone went to sleep early Friday night which was good since Maayan woke up at 5:15 Shabbos morning. Ari went to shul and I had planned on taking Maayan later but we both took naps that lasted until about noon (I'm certainly not complaining) We had a quiet lunch and after Maayan's nap we went to the park and Maayan went in the swing for a good 20 minutes- she has really started to like it and its very cute! After the park we visited Dov and Arielle for a little bit before going back home to get Maayan ready for bed.
Because of the time change Maayan slept until 7 on Sunday which was SO exciting for Ari and I. We then had a busy day of apartment hunting in Riverdale- unfortunately, nothing to report on that, but in between the apartments we had time to go to the park and Maayan went in the swing again.
Yesterday was the first class of the new Music Together semester-Maayan had a great time and was really excited to see the teacher again! Thankfully Maayan is now taking a nap and I have time to post and maybe even sleep a little- wish me luck! Have a good day!
